The Times - Best Hotels in Dublin
Best for peace and quiet
"Head south from St Stephen’s Green and you’ll find most of the wide streets lined with beautiful Georgian townhouses, many of which are privately owned. Pembroke Townhouse, made up of three interconnecting buildings, gives you a peek behind the curtain. The rooms are on the smaller side but are good value, and some have a loft-style mezzanine with a separate seating area to make the most of those super high ceilings. The living room by the entrance is a lovely communal space, with free tea and coffee and pastries in the morning — the bottles of wine they stock are very well priced, too."
The Telegraph
"The Pembroke Townhouse, down in leafy Ballsbridge, provides a taste of Georgian living with modern touches. Though it doesn’t have the amenities of a larger hotel, there’s a homely atmosphere – from the inviting lounge areas to the treats in the larder – that makes for a refreshing change of pace."
Fodors
"“Townhouse" does not do justice to the splendor of the place, but it does hint at the cozy, relaxed atmosphere of the Pembroke, a superb example of classic 18th-century grandeur. The fan-windowed front door leads into a stately reception area, complete with Grecian pillars. The bright, airy, high-ceiling rooms are all individually designed in a gentle clash of contemporary chic and Georgian symmetry. Nearly every wall bears a striking piece of contemporary Irish art."
